Dejan: Key Account Manager

Dejan is wide awake early every morning. On the way to his desk he briefly discusses the last Eintracht game with his colleagues. Then his full attention is required: his client needs him. And not at his desk, but on site in the store. Dejan does not hesitate for long, packs up briefly and sets off straight away. As Key Account Manager he is the main contact person for three important QSL customers. “I am the face of QSL for my customers, so to speak,” he says. In his job, Dejan provides both operational and strategic advice. He always manages to quickly establish a personal relationship and open dialogue with his contact person. In this way, he helps his customers to optimize processes and sometimes becomes an emergency rescuer, for example if the customer has forgotten to order new goods in time. “Then all the threads come together here: Customer, purchasing, logistics and so on – but together we always find a solution…”. The acquisition of new customers is also one of Dejan’s tasks and so he never gets bored. “There is actually no such thing as a ‘normal’ daily routine. Nor is there a normal week. The challenges are so unique that they are always changing,” he laughs with satisfaction. Dejan has been with QSL since 2015. He started as an operational buyer, but when the position of key account manager was advertised, he didn’t hesitate for long: “I wanted to continue my education – to get ahead – and when that worked out, I was naturally very happy. That’s where QSL has always offered special opportunities”. For the future, Dejan wishes to take on even more customers, to maintain his good relationship with colleagues and to continue to grow with his customers and his company QSL.

Maik: Dispatcher

Maik loves having a plan come together. Tours, consignment notes, customer communication and driver scheduling are his specialty. As a scheduler he is a decisive factor along the supply chain. He checks deliveries and coordinates appointments with his customers. In doing so, he ensures that deadlines are met and is the contact person for customers and drivers alike. When he comes into the office and the first cup of coffee sweetens his morning, he immediately processes the daily reports from the previous day. Then the returned commission notes are checked and the tours for the next day are “pushed together”. For Maik, everything has to fit perfectly: “The tour I plan, the loading of the truck, all the way to the driver.” Because drivers don’t just come to see him for organizational reasons: “If they have questions, worries or needs, even in their private lives, they can always come to me and they know that too. It’s important to me, because you work better when you feel really comfortable. His career shows how comfortable Maik himself feels at Meyer QSL: He started working for the company as an order picker in 2006. From 2013 to 2018, the job took him to the Hamburg location, where he worked his way up to the dispatch department in the warehouse. He is proud of his achievement: “The work was definitely worthwhile or better said it is still worthwhile. Every day he faces new challenges and every day his commitment is rewarded: “Sometimes customers call just to say: “Gee, everything is working out perfectly with you guys”, that makes me incredibly proud.

Never stand still

Learning is a basic human requirement. At Meyer Quick Service Logistics, we don’t want to stand still, we want to make progress every day. That’s why we offer our employees extensive opportunities for further education and training, for example training courses on using the current Office package, e-learning on the SQL programming language or language courses via the VHS.
